To protect Products from copy-cats and infringement of company Brand, we are using IP protection mechanisms:
- Logo & name is going to be trademarked
- Hardware devices (method of operation) are going to be patented
- Hardware design and UI design (unique external look) is going to be patented
Product moat
To reduce churn and have “Product moat” stickiness of the product we focus on:
- Continous collection of ‣ from user data and keeping it private for improving model precision.
- Only part of datasets (collected directly by the company in the field) are going to be public.
- Holistic approach to beekeeping gives us a competitive edge
- full vertical product ownership with hardware makes “moat” wider

- Intangible asset. Brand should give a feeling of high-quality care for the bees 🐝
- Network effect. By building a community of beekeepers we increase stickyness - Beekeepers for field testing, Academy, Share of beehive inspection public URL, Public beehive view
- Switching cost. We do not limit user data extraction, but you do need to write a software to explicitly export data via API.
- We also want to integrate with existing analog solutions to gather their data and act as a data platform for beekeeping
